Computers Too Toxic To Use As A Healing Modality ....... Not So.
Much has been said and written about the healing benefits of light therapy and the toxic effects of computer energy (i.e. positive ions). Some may say that the technology intrinsic to computers is too toxic to use as a healing modality. This is not so. The following is a list of simple things computer users can do to minimize the toxic effect of positive ions and artificial fire energy (as it is referred to in Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine, i.e. radiation) inherent in computers. (These suggestions may also be applied to television as well).
1. Always make sure there is plenty of natural light in the room to dilute the light energy from the computer screen. Natural lighting is always the best. If this is not possible, or if the computer is being used at night, the use of full spectrum light bulbs is a good second choice.
2. Plants produce negative ions, the energy which promotes greater mental clarity, so having living plants in the room near the computer will help neutralize the positive ions produced by the computer equipment.
3. Move your eyes around the screen and the room from time to time. Avoid staring at the screen in a "fixed" manner for extended periods of time.
4. Place an amethyst crystal (size is not important) on top of the computer or monitor and a piece of obsidian (any type will do) near the computer (anywhere is fine and again size is not important). The amethyst helps re-direct the energy of the CRT away from you, and the obsidian helps to neutralize the energy.
5. As always, the body is an important factor and general ergonomics such as screen being at eye level and directly in front of you (straight ahead is always preferable to the screen being off to the left or to the right) should be considered in setting up a user friendly environment.
6. After Finishing Your Session:
The light sessions are designed to enhance one's relationship with being in the present moment and awakening to one's True Self; which for some may mean coming out of the head or mental body and moving more into the physical body.
It is not uncommon for people when moving out of their heads and into their bodies to experience a feeling of "spaceyness" or slight disorientation after light therapy, as one's consciousness is re-organizing and expanding via the nervous system. This should pass within an hour of finishing the program.
Not every person experiences these symptoms or symptoms like these, however, if this symptom continues for more than an hour discontinue light therapy and consult a physician.
